Absences & Tardiness
If your child will be absent or tardy please report the absence to the health office by phone, email or through the Paperless PTO app by 9:10 a.m. Students arriving after 9:10 a.m. are considered absent for the full morning. Students arriving after 1:05 p.m. are considered absent for the full afternoon. Students arriving late must go directly to the office and sign in. All students leaving early must be signed out by a parent or guardian.
Parents must complete the advance request for absence form at least 48 hours in advance of the first day of absence. Per the District’s policy, teachers will not provide work in advance of an absence. Students will be given all missed work upon their return.
We strongly encourage parents to plan appointments and vacations around the school calendar when possible. Chronic absenteeism will be reported to the district office and may also be reported to the Lake County Regional Office of Education.
Students will only be dismissed to a parent or legal guardian, or to emergency contacts designed in Family Access.
All visitors (parents, volunteers, guests, etc.) are required to enter through the front office, sign the visitor’s log and put on a visitors tag when in the building. All visitors must ring the doorbell and will be asked to identify themselves prior to being let into the building. Staff members have been asked to direct all visitors not wearing a visitors tag to return to the main office.
Parents and visitors may not be on the playground during the school day. Teachers and lunchroom supervisors have been directed to ask all non-school personnel to leave the playground when school children are present.
If parents wish to pick up homework, please call the school office to request it. However, homework will be available for pick up in the office after 3:25.
